Their policies are no longer communistic, but then neither were the USSR's policies after WW2. The fact remains that all but island of Taiwan is the dominion of autocrats.

I am by no means saying that china's setup isn't messed up, they have their problems too. But I'd rather have lassaiz-faire like the chinese have now and keep my "dissident" thoughts secret than live under a $15 trillion in-debt monster-governmet with a marxist in office.

Candidates for public office should have to pass a rigorous Civil Service Examination, and voters ought to all have passed the same test that foreigners take to get their citizenship, as well as have received a GED or High School Diploma. There you go, smart democracy.
